Typographic Posters

Designed by Neville Brody in 1986 for Arena magazine, Insignia embodies the bold, experimental spirit of 1980s graphic design. Its geometric structure blends Art Deco influences with elements of non-Western art, resulting in a typeface that is both precise and expressive.

Insignia is versatile, working effectively for both headlines and body text. The standard letterforms maintain a classic construction, while the alternate characters introduce unconventional shapes that reflect Brody’s innovative approach to typography.

These posters highlight the unique character of the typeface, using composition, scale, and spacing to draw attention to the geometry and rhythm within each letterform. The arrangement emphasizes how form and structure can create visual interest and dynamic movement within typographic design.
